Fourth Of July 2020

Fourth Of July 2020

Hi everyone ,

Happy 4th of July!

We had a rough week weather-wise with quarter-size hail and heavy rain so even though it’s hard at times keep smiling and tell yourself that better days are ahead.

As part of phase three of opening we are opening the Beach Rec Hall with Wi Fi under the password “sugarbeach”.  I have shifted a lot of the soft drinks, candy and ice cream down there so that is where to send the kids.

The limit is fifteen total in the building, no large groups and
EVERYBODY MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING. NO EXCEPTIONS!

GOLF CART PARADE  – SATURDAY AT 1 PM – MEET AT SAFARI FIELD

Also there is a Boat Parade Saturday night at 8pm.

Line up in the lake area off second beach and join in or watch from shore.

Afterwards there there will be fireworks at first beach.

Fourth of July 2020 fireworksThere can be no fireworks in the campground wooded areas!
Saturday night after eleven pm that should be the end of fireworks altogether for the 4th of July.

HAVE HAPPY A Fourth Of July 2020!

Also, because someone may get to their assigned site only to find it blocked by parked vehicles, we cannot allow this rule to be ignored.

Fathers Day Weekend 2020

Fathers Day Weekend 2020

Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying Summer! I understand it’s about to get really HOT!

Anyway, I want to start off by apologizing to any of you who were affected by the rowdy behavior in orange 33 last Sunday night. All I can say is that when they checked in, they seemed O.K.  And it only goes to show you that you can’t always tell how they will really act.  These people will certainly not be allowed to return.

On a positive note I wanted to convey that as part of our ongoing opening up,

the Craft House will open this weekend from 10 am to 2 pm .

You will, however not be allowed inside. Craft projects will be on display through the window and sold through a slot in the door. Masks and rubber gloves must be worn at all times, tables will be spaced 6 feet apart and we would ask one family per table.  If it should happen that there aren’t enough tables, please either wait a safe distance or return a little later when a table opens up .

Remember this is Fathers Day Weekend so be extra kind to them (including me!) and get your tickets early for the big breakfast.

Memorial Weekend Covid19 Update

Memorial Weekend Covid19 Update

Memorial Weekend Covid19 Update Jeffs StumpTo all campers of Bowdish Lake.

It has been brought to my attention that a local business less than a half mile from the campground has been shut down due to covid19.  What is eerie about is is that it is so close. The business Barnes Concrete had to close completely.  All the employees now have to quarantine for two weeks and can only return to work after that period if they test negative.

The state is not fooling around!

We all have no choice but to take this seriously.   Should an outbreak occur here we face the same consequences or maybe worse.   There can be no visitors until further notice.  I may allow you to have a family visitor but that will only be allowed with special permission through the office.  We must all do our part to stay safe and to keep our neighbors safe.  Social distancing measures and face coverings shall be strictly enforced.

We are not allowed to have much in the way of organized activities this weekend, however I would like to have a bike parade for the kids.  Parents are welcome too!

BIKE PARADE ON SATURDAY

Everyone will meet at the Safari Field on Saturday at 11 am, and my son Brady will lead everyone around the park.  All the couch potatoes who don’t participate should don a mask, keep a safe distance and cheer on the riders.  Even if there is a pandemic there is a lot to explore at Bowdish. It’s a good time to get in the woods, or on the lake or ponds and discover what nature has to offer.

Memorial Weekend 2020

Memorial Weekend 2020

Beginning this coming Memorial Weekend we will resume allowing weekend and longer stays.

We are sorry that we cannot allow tents at this time.  All units must be self contained since our bathrooms are still closed.

We are not able to have any planned group activities due to the social distancing requirements.

All campers must wear face coverings and practice social distancing until further notice.  Please check this web site for latest updates.  Notice rate for weekend camping below.

RATE CHANGES FOR THE 2020 SEASON.

Due to the added costs associated with Covid19, we now meter electrical usage on all sites for this year and going forward.  All transient campers will be required to pay a per-night deposit to cover their electrical usage.  Also such deposits shall be $10 per night for any unit up to 30 feet in length, and $20 for units over 30 feet.

Any unused portion of the deposit shall be refunded.

We would prefer that debit cards be used for these transactions.
The electrical rate for transient (non-seasonal) campers shall be .50 per kilowatt hour.

2020 Camping Season

2020 Camping Season

Hi again everyone,

The Town Council for Glocester has just met and agreed to mirror their covid19 regulations with the state

So that now means that I can officially welcome you for the season.  Still seasonal campers only at this time.  Sorry for the delay, but Thursday nights is when they have meetings.

Now just because they are opening things up, that does not mean they are relaxing the rules.  You must social distance, do not associate with more than five people per day and always write down who they are.  Always wear face coverings and gloves when off your site or except when you are in your car or away from the dock driving your boat.

The bathrooms, rec halls, playgrounds and even the office are closed until further notice.

As I told you last posting, I did break my arm and I would ask you to be patient with me.  I have had a few problems getting the water system going in all areas, however I do believe I will have it all up running by tomorrow afternoon.

If any of you experience problems, please call the office to let me know.

Hopefully, the credit card machine will be up and running by Friday, mid-day.

If you wish to stay overnight you may, but only if your fees are paid in full.

It is not predicted to be a great weekend weather-wise, with snow expected Friday night and 28 degrees for a low Sunday morning.  We’ll see how hardy you all are!

Update 2020 Camping Season

Update 2020 Camping Season

Hello everyone!

The state has at long last given us permission to open, although I have to let you know there are lots of restrictions

  1. For starters, it really is for long term stays (seasonals) only and really only so that seasonals can use and enjoy their second or vacation home.
  2. For now, all facilities in the park are to remain closed until further notice.  That includes the office, bathrooms, rec halls and playgrounds.
  3. You will be allowed some recreational activities but you must observe social distancing guidelines without fail I will have zero tolerance for anyone who disobeys the rules, and you will face forced eviction to rte 44 without refund if you fail to comply.
  4. So for now, come to your site with your day’s necessary provisions, get it cleaned ready to go, and make the best of the summer.
  5. This allowance is subject to weekly changes and can be revoked at any time, so just accept it and deal with it.  This is clearly an unusual situation which we have no control over.  Welcome to the new reality.
  6. You must respect the health of our employees.  Always wear personal protective gear when dealing with them.  Try to do as much as you can over the phone, email or website.
  7. Denise will be in the office this weekend from 9 – 6 both Saturday and Sunday.  You must go to the side window for service, stay 6 feet apart if there forms a line, and wear PPE mask and gloves when dealing with her.

Have a good summer and keep checking the website for updates.

Yes, the water and electric are on!

John

P.S. – I fell yesterday and broke my wrist, so you will have to bear with me if it looks like we are not completely ready for you.
