Campground Visitors

Our facilities are intended for the pleasure and convenience of our registered campers.  Campground Visitors are not encouraged.  Therefore, we reserve the right to limit visitors, should our facilities be over-taxed.

Yes, people complain that we charge for every visitor, and that we do not encourage visitors. You will find that most campgrounds will charge for and/or limit the number of visitors and extra vehicles.  We also do not allow visitors to bring dogs.  Because of the extra strain on our campground resources, we must find a way to compensate and limit.

So why do we charge for visitors and visitors vehicles?

Imagine that you’ve taken a site for the season. You’re sitting outside enjoying a campfire with your better half.  The neighbors, who you can just see through the trees, have decided to invite about eight of their “best buds” for a loud game of beer pong and some nighttime skinny dipping.  Just as you get your fire going nicely, the extra vehicles start rolling in.  There is not enough room for eight extra vehicles on that site, so they park haphazardly along the road blocking traffic.  And, since there are no rules against it, they are all staying overnight to sit up singing Klingon drinking songs.  While we love Klingon drinking songs, we don’t love them at 2 am.

Maybe the next day, the neighbors on the other side of you decide to invite all their friends from home to have a “block party” but the campground is so much nicer a place for it.  All of their neighbors drive in with dogs and kids and bicycles and they are staying all day.

Imagine that the state beach is a long drive, so one of the campers kindly invites all the neighborhood kids to come swim in the lake. Fourteen kids arrive with only three adults and they all spend the day on the lake.  Consequently, our lifeguard going nuts trying to watch them all.

Get the picture?  We have rules for a reason. The campground is meant to be a place of peaceful enjoyment. Therefore, visitors must all register, and pay fees.

Day Visitor, out by 7:00pm  $10.00/person
Evening or overnight   $15.00/person

Campground Visitors’ Cars

No parking is available at the office or in the field because there is limited parking available and also because we are not responsible for visitors’ property.  Visitors’ cars must be registered and fee must be paid.
Saturday, Sunday, Holidays:  $10.00/day

Campground Visitors’ Dogs

Visitors are not allowed to bring dogs into camp at any time, for any reason.
